This presentation will explore some of the bests, firsts, and uniques of Rhode Island, including the uniqueness the author found in writing about the nation’s smallest state. This fun presentation will include a quiz to see how much the audience already knows and audience participation in routing out more superlatives and stories about Little Rhody. The audience will reminisce, learn, and gather sufficient ammunition to combat those confused out-of-staters who believe Rhode Island is a part of New York. Additionally, the author will discuss some of the research involved in retrieving the information on our state.
The presenter, Roberta Mudge Humble, gives several dozen lectures a year, and is the author of many books, including The RIght to Crow: A Look at Rhode Island’s Firsts, Bests, & Uniques (2006, Thistle House Publications).
Friday, May 7, at 5:30 p.m.
Room 4090 (Board Room)
4th Floor, Knight Campus
400 East Avenue
Following the presentation, CCRI’s Honors students will present their honors projects in the foyer outside of the room and the CCRI Foundation will sponsor refreshments.
