1994 Hall of Fame inductee - Helen Allen Fiske

Helen Allen Fiske

Helen Allen Fiske worked at the Community College of Rhode Island for 23 years and for the state of Rhode Island for 31 years before her retirement in 1989. While at the college, she moved through the ranks from administrative assistant, assistant business manager and budget officer to the role of business manager. She was active in a wide range of college activities and was known for her professionalism.

Fiske began her CCRI career at the CIC Building in Providence in 1966 where the school was temporarily located before moving to the Knight Campus in Warwick. She managed construction bids and the college’s relocation efforts to the Warwick and Lincoln campuses. She also was involved in the college’s site expansion of the Nursing and Allied Health programs to the Newport Hospital satellite.

Prior to joining CCRI, Fiske was employed in the Purchasing Office at URI and with the State Division of Purchases. Her memberships have included the Eastern and National Associations of College and University Business Officers. She also was affiliated with the CCRI and URI Alumni Associations and the CCRI Foundation.

Fiske is a graduate of Bryant College and the University of Rhode Island.
