General Programs Scholarships

Ahlijian-Pitts

PURPOSE: This scholarship may be awarded to defray the costs of any combination of tuition, fees, books and/or academic supplies or equipment. To be eligible for this scholarship a student must: have completed at least 30 credit hours at CCRI towards completion of an Associate’s Degree program, carry a cumulative GPA of no less than 3.2, intend to use this scholarship at CCRI in further pursuit of that program and intend to carry a minimum course load of 6 credit hours during the semester for which the scholarship is granted. If a student’s credit hours to complete that program are less than 6, the student meets all other criteria, then the student can be deemed an “eligible applicant”. (This scholarship shall not be awarded to any “eligible applicant” in an amount exceeding his or her need.)

PURPOSE: To provide financial support to Liberal Arts students enrolled at CCRI. Preference will be given to Liberal Arts majors who meet the following qualifications: a Pawtucket resident entering the second year of study at CCRI who plans to continue his or her education at a four-year institution after graduation and is in need of financial assistance.

PURPOSE: To provide financial support to students of meritorious standing who are entering and/or have completed one year at CCRI. Students should possess leadership skills and be involved in student-run organizations such as SkillsUSA either at the high school or college level. Students are eligible in any career and technical area of study: administrative office technology, allied health, business administration, computer studies, engineering and technology, industrial technology, nursing or general programs.

Charles Sullivan Scholarship for Women Returning to College

PURPOSE: To provide financial support to a woman returning to college at CCRI. Preference will be given to a student who graduated from high school at least 10 years ago and is self-supporting.

Cooperative Education

PURPOSE: To provide financial support to a CCRI student who has demonstrated the ability to relate his or her work environment to their academic environment. Eligible students must be employed in a position that is related to their academic studies. Student must have completed the course Cooperative Work Experience I at CCRI.

David J. Bedrosian-Providence Journal

PURPOSE: To provide financial support for a student who is continuing his or her studies at the CCRI Liston Campus in Providence. The student must have demonstrated success in his or her studies. Preference is given to a student who has completed 12 credits and has maintained a minimum 2.5 GPA. Students must submit a completed registration form for the next semester, proof of 12 completed credits and a recommendation letter from one faculty member.

PURPOSE: To provide financial assistance to CCRI students who have completed their first year and are continuing their studies at CCRI. Students must have at least a 2.8 GPA and write an essay describing their commitment to community and/or family through community service, volunteer work or family responsibility. All minority students are encouraged to apply.

Maria C. Mansella Merit Award

  • Have completed their first year at CCRI and are continuing their studies at the college
  • Be a student in the Foreign Languages & Culture department – Italian
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the Italian language and culture with the intention of participating in the CCRI Summer Travel Study Program in Italy

Andre Antranig Martiesian Memorial Scholarship

PURPOSE: To provide financial assistance to a CCRI continuing student with at least 30 credits majoring in Business Administration, Criminal Justice and Legal Studies, or General Studies. Students must have financial need as well as maintaining a 3.0 GPA. Preference is given to a student of Armenian decent; second preference is for a student who has immigrated to the United States and has become a citizen.

Phi Theta Kappa

PURPOSE: To provide financial support to active members of Phi Theta Kappa, Pi Omicron Chapter who are either full-time or part-time students continuing their education in a degree program at CCRI. Preference extended to applicants who have earned 25 points for service activities and have a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.5 or higher.

The student must have maintained an average of “B” or above during high school. Applicants must provide a demonstrated commitment to community service. He or she must include a letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach or guidance counselor.

A. Paralegal Studies
B. Nursing

  • for A & B, the students must be currently registered for at least 9 credit hours for the semester and have already completed at least 12 credit hours toward a degree.
  • for C, the students must be currently registered for at least 6 credit hours and have already completed at least 6 credit hours toward a certificate.

Woonsocket Kiwanis

PURPOSE: To provide financial assistance to a student who has completed the first year at CCRI and is continuing his or her studies at CCRI. Applicant must be a Woonsocket resident. Preference is given to applicants who have a career goal in Nursing, Human Services or other field relating to serving children and/or youth at risk.
