Administrative Office Technology Department Scholarship

Purpose:  To award a scholarship to a high school senior planning to enroll in an Office Administration Program at the Community College of Rhode Island. Scholarship, citizenship, and professional potential will be considered.

Processing Procedure:  Administrative Office Technology Department Chair appoints Scholarship Review Committee.

Administrative Office Technology Department Chair completes Scholarship Sign-Off form and forwards it and all applications to the Office of Institutional Advancement.

Announcement is made at the Rhode Island Educators Association's annual Spring meeting by the Office Administration Department Chair.

Upon receipt of all materials, CCRI Foundation check is made jointly payable to the selected recipient and CCRI. Office of Institutional Advancement sends check and congratulatory letter to the selected recipient via certified mail with a copy to the Office Administration Department Chair. Copies of the letter plus a copy of the application form are sent to:

Revenue History:  Account was endowed in 1991 by the Administrative Office Technology Department (formerly the Office Administration Department) to encourage enrollment and improve marketing of the program among high school students. Collegiate Secretaries International Organization (CCRI Student Club) has fundraising responsibilities and generally contributes additional funds (usually $50) to the award recipient. [Note the CSI contribution is not processed through the CCRI Foundation .
