Purpose
:  To recognize students graduating from CCRI who have given of their time, talents and energies and demonstrated leadership in the promotion of student activities at the Community College.

Application Deadline:  April 1

Processing Procedure:  Associate Vice President Student Services appoints Scholarship Review Committee, chaired by Associate Deans of Students at each campus.

Scholarship Committee Chair completes Scholarship Sign-Off form and forwards it and all applications to the Office of Institutional Advancement. At the same time, the Scholarship Committee Chairs contacts Jean Lovett in the Office of Student Affairs for the Class Night Program Brochure.

Upon receipt of all materials, CCRI Foundation check is made payable to the selected recipient. Office of Institutional Advancement sends check and congratulatory letter to the selected recipient via certified mail with a copy to the Scholarship Committee Chairs. Copies of the letter plus a copy of the application form are sent to:

Revenue History:  The account was endowed in 1984 by Lucy D. Medeiros, a Trustee of the CCRI Foundation and former employee of the College, who contributed annually. Lucy was one of the inaugural members inducted into CCRI’s Hall of Fame in 1994. Upon retirement in 1977, Lucy D. Medeiros completed a 43-year career in education, 12 of which she devoted to CCRI. After her retirement, she accepted the responsibility of organizing the CCRI/RIJC Alumni Association and was the first recipient of the Alumni Association Recognition Award in 1980.
