Joe Andre, Jr. Student-Athlete Scholarship

Purpose: To recognize an outstanding student athlete who is currently enrolled at the Community College of Rhode Island, continuing his/her education at CCRI, and evidences leadership, academic success and sportsmanship.

Application Deadline: April 15 (There is no student application)

Processing Procedure:  Director of Athletics or the Associate Director, who serves as Scholarship Committee Chair, appoints Scholarship Review Committee.

The Director of Athletics or the Associate Director completes Scholarship Sign-Off form and forwards it and all applications to the Office of Institutional Advancement.   Announcement is made at the Athletic Awards Dinner in May.

Upon receipt of all materials, CCRI Foundation check is made jointly payable to the selected recipient and CCRI. Office of Institutional Advancement sends check and congratulatory letter to the selected recipient via certified mail with a copy to the Director of Athletics and the Associate Director. Copies of the letter plus a copy of the application form are sent to:

Revenue History:  The account was endowed in 1990 in memory of CCRI employee, Joe Andre, who was a great supporter of CCRI athletics and its students. Athletic Department has fundraising responsibility.
