Purpose:  To provide financial support to currently enrolled student(s) who are majoring in Paralegal Studies, Nursing or Developmental Disabilities studies.  The student(s) must be currently registered for at least 9 credit hours for the semester and have already completed at least twelve credits and two semesters toward his/her degree.  The student must have maintained a 3.0 G.P.A. or better. The student must demonstrate some financial need, but need not be qualified for federal aid (the scholarship committee shall determine need based on the application). The student must be a citizen of the United States.  In the case of a tie in every aspect, with the express exception of G.P.A., preference will be given to the student who has demonstrated more hard work, diligence, and who has the most potential as determined by the Scholarship Committee.

Preference will be given to student(s) who are active in school and/or community activities, but if the applicant provides an explanation as to the extenuating circumstances as to why he/she has not been active, his/her application will still be considered. [An example of extenuating circumstances would be an applicant who might be a single parent, working, and trying to improve himself/herself, who does not have time for such activities.]
