Purpose:  First preference is given to a Computer Studies and Information Processing student who is entering his/her second year of studies at CCRI.  Second preference is given to a Computer Studies and Information Processing student who is transferring to a 4-year college/university.  Both need and merit are considered in the application process, with preference being given to need.

Processing Procedures:      The Scholarship Chair appoints a three-person selection committee.

The Scholarship Chair completes Scholarship sign-off form and forwards it and all applications to the Office of Institutional Advancement.

Upon receipt of all materials, CCRI Foundation check is made jointly payable to the selected recipient and CCRI or the selected recipient and the four-year college/university.  Office of Institutional Advancement sends check and congratulatory letter to the selected recipient via certified mail with a copy to the Computer Studies and Information Processing Department Chair.  Copies of the letter plus a copy of the recipient’s application form are sent to:

Revenue History:  Account was established in memory of M. Sue Higgins in 1998.  Ms. Higgins worked for CCRI for 26 years and a major portion of this time was in the Computer Studies and Information Processing department.  Ms. Higgins passed away in November 1996 from cancer.
