Purpose:  The Christina M. Liston scholarship is intended to be granted to a graduating CCRI student from the Liston Campus who has achieved a minimum grade point average of 3.5 and has been accepted at a four-year institution for continued studies towards the bachelors degree in business, computer science, or a related field.  The recipient should have demonstrated a high degree of personal initiative while at CCRI and have exhibited strong leadership qualities as evidenced by participation in extracurricular activities.

Application Deadline:  April 1

Processing Procedure:  Scholarship Chair appoints a scholarship review committee.

The Scholarship Chair completes Scholarship Sign-Off form and forwards it and all applications to the Office of Institutional Advancement.  At the same time, Scholarship Chair contacts Jean Lovett in the Office of Student Affairs for the Class Night Program Brochure.

The Scholarship Chair notifies the selected recipient that verification of enrollment, not simply acceptance, must be obtained from the four-year college/university and sent to the Office of Institutional Advancement before payment can be processed.

Upon receipt of all materials, CCRI Foundation check is made jointly payable to the selected recipient and four-year college/university.  Office of Institutional Advancement sends check and congratulatory letter to the selected recipient via certified mail with a copy to the Scholarship Chair.  Copies of the letter plus a copy of the application form are sent to:

Revenue History:  The Christina M. Liston scholarship award is dedicated to the memory of the eldest child of Edward J. and Judith H. Liston.  Her father served as the second President of CCRI.  Christina earned an A.A. degree from CCRI, the B.A. from Charter Oak University, and the M.B.A. and M.S. from Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute.  At the time of her death at the age of 37, she was national sales vice president for Structured Computer Systems, Inc. of Hartford, Connecticut.
