Bio

John Rood is an Associate Professor of Nursing and the Community College of Rhode Island. 

Professor Rood came to the discipline of nursing after years of caring for his ailing parents. He started his nursing education at Springfield Technical Community College, in Springfield, Massachusetts. After graduating with an Associate Degree in Nursing, he entered the University of Massachusetts at Amherst’s RN to BSN Program. He went on to pursue a Master’s Degree in Advance Practice Nursing at the University of Massachusetts.

Professor Rood is a faculty fellow for the Rhode Island Geriatric Education Center, the chairperson for the Learning Resource Committee, and a member of the Executive Committee of the CCRI Faculty Association. He is also a member of the American Nurses Association, the Rhode Island Nurses Association, Massachusetts Nurses Association, and Massachusetts Association of Register Nurses.

Professor Rood has developed three courses for nursing students; Nursing Informatics, Health Issues with Aging and Focus on Nursing Pharmacology.
