Professor Francine Knowles, MSN, APRN-CNS, CODA-Diplomate, ACDP II, earned an Associate in Arts Degree from Rhode Island Junior College in 1974 and completed the ADN program in 1977. She was elected to “Who’s Who in American Junior Colleges” and was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa. She earned her BS in Nursing from Rhode Island College in 1996 and graduated from URI with a Master’s of Science in Nursing in 2004 with a specialty in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing.
She joined the CCRI faculty in 2005 where she has taught psychiatric nursing. She also works to provide psychiatric-mental health services to pregnant and postpartum women in a residential addictions treatment facility.
Professor Knowles is an ANCC Board Certified Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist and is an Internationally Certified Co-Occurring Disorders Specialist and Advanced Chemical Dependence Specialist.
She holds memberships in the Rhode Island State Nurses Association, the Rhode Island Mental Health Council, the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau.
