Janice Schmitz is a Registered Dental Hygienist and earned her A.A.S. in Dental Hygiene at the Community College of Rhode Island in 2001. She began her career in private practice, working in both general dentistry and prosthodontic practices for 15 years. Janice attended the University of Bridgeport, Fones School of Dental Hygiene, earning a B.S. in Dental Hygiene in 2012, and a Master of Science in Dental Hygiene, specializing in education, in 2015. Additionally, she holds a permit to administer local anesthesia and is a Certified Dental Assistant. Janice began teaching at the Community College of Rhode Island in 2012 as an adjunct instructor, and was hired as an assistant professor in the Dental Health department 2015. She teaches Introduction to Dental Health Careers, Dental Materials Laboratory for the Dental Hygienist, Dental Hygiene II, Oral Biology I, and Clinical Dental Hygiene. Janice is a member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society.
