Assistant Professor Amy Giese recently joined the Community College of Rhode Island in the spring semester of 2014. She teaches both digital and film based photography courses. She received her M.F.A. in photography from Parson The New School for Design and a B.A. in Fine Arts from Amherst College.
Giese's work centers around how different forms of photography have the ability to render time and space into two-dimensional images. Her unique darkroom images have been included in numerous shows, both nationally and internationally, including the Photographic Resource Center, the Danforth Museum of Art, the Auckland Festival of Photography, the University of Notre Dame, East Carolina University, Oakland University, Real Art Ways and the Center for Fine Art Photographic Education.
