Land Surveying Program Outcomes

  1. Satisfy State of Rhode Island educational requirement for licensure as Land Survey In Training (LSIT).
  2. Develop skills in survey interpretation and development.
  3. Demonstrate proficiency in AutoCad and Computer Aided Design.
  4. Understand legal terms, concepts, and requirements associated with land surveys, real estate, and contracts.
  5. Complete basic fieldwork with optical, electronic, and mechanical survey instruments.
  6. Develop essential computer skills expected of land surveyors and professionals in survey related fields.
  7. Present and develop math and physic concepts related to land surveying.
  8. Perform the necessary measurements, data reduction and adjustment of a horizontal and vertical control network.
  9. Compute and apply the applications of various state plane coordinate systems.
  10. Obtain skills in Mapping (Cartography) and Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
