About the Process Control Technology Certificate
The Process Control Certificate Program is designed to educate the student in the control of industrial and manufacturing process by local or remote means. The curriculum is designed to familiarized the student with a variety of industrial and scientific instruments, including automatic controllers, recorders, transmitters, analyzers, and indicators. The process control student receives instruction in electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
In this program, the student is trained to calibrate, maintain, design, and operate instruments used on process control systems. These systems include bio-technology, power generation, chemical, pulp and paper, water and wastewater, food and beverage systems.
All students successfully completing the Process Control Technology Program at the Community College of Rhode Island have a majority of courses common to other Associate in Applied Science Degree programs available, and can continue their studies with little or no loss of credit toward the multiple Associate Degrees offered.
