About the Introduction to Computer and Networking Certificate

This program prepares a student with the basic understanding skills of computers and networking. This prepares students for entry level network and desktop support technicians.

The program can be completed in one semester and without credit loss, to existing associate degrees. Since these programs require above average semester credit-loads, it should only be considered by a motivated, mature student. In some cases courses must be covered in one half-semester (sub-semester) to allow for a two course sequence to be completed.

PREREQUISITES AND EXPERIENCE

  1. The programs require student Math placement of MATH 0500 or higher.
  2. Basic Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Office computer skills.

This certificate transfers to the following certificates and degrees:

  1. Computer Desktop Technician Certificate (CDTC, 18 Credits)
  2. Networking Technician Certificate (NWTC, 18 Credits)
  3. Computer and Networking Technology A.A.S. Degree (CNTD, 65 Credits)
