English as a Second Language

The English Department’s Academic English as a Second Language (ESL) Program is designed for students who are pursuing academic studies at the college level. We offer four levels of writing instruction, which also emphasize reading, speaking, and listening. In addition, we offer several specialized courses in reading and speaking. Placement into our courses is determined by ESL Accuplacer scores. New students must visit the Testing Center before registering for classes. For more information about the Testing Center please visit the Testing Center web page.

Questions about CCRI’s ESL Program should be directed to Dr. Christine Fox, ESL Program Coordinator, at cfox@ccri.edu .
