English Department Philosophy: The English Department comprises faculty with a wide variety of experience and expertise. We operate in an arena of mutual respect and cooperation with the common goals of providing our students with the best educational experience and of fulfilling the Department and College missions.

Welcome to the English Department: As an adjunct or temporary full- time instructor, you are an important part of the mission of our college and our department. Currently, English Department auxiliary faculty account for almost 50% of our teaching personnel.

This guide has been written to familiarize you with the Department's standards and policies, to provide information and guidelines to help you in the classroom, to connect you with the rest of the faculty, and to help make you feel comfortable with the way operate around here (like Where's the bathroom? and Is it ok to kick the copy machine?*)*No

The English Department is divided into six components: English as a Second Language, English Concentration, Literature, Oral Communications, Reading, and Writing.

If you have any questions not answered in this Guide, feel free to ask any of the committee members in your subject area, other faculty, or staff. However, if your question is directly related to curriculum, please speak with a committee member from the related subject area.
