Class-Related Information
Class Assignments
After your official papers are processed, Gail will provide you with the form to obtain your Pipeline user name and password, necessary to access your roster and course schedule (with room assignments) through Pipeline.
Rosters (Class List)
Class and grade rosters are available only on Pipeline. Extensive Pipeline help is available in a number of areas.
Classrooms
If you want to use another classroom or an electronic classroom for any reason during the semester, you must book it with Cathy Tessier at 825-2408 or Renee Gaboury at 333-7091 in Enrollment Services. An online course room change request form is also available. Please notify Diane Sylvester, English Department secretary, of all room changes that have been made. You can review the available equipment in each room at the Flanagan Campus Classroom Resource site.
A
Flanagan Campus map is available. However, for your general
information: The classrooms are arranged in groups within three modules. The
elevators are located in Module Two. When trying to locate a room,
look at the first two digits. The first number stands for the module
the room is located in (1, 2, or 3). The second digit will tell you
what side of the building and what floor the room is on. Odd numbers
are located on the north side of the building, even numbers on the
south. If the second digit is less than 5, the room is located on
the first floor. If the digit is between 5 and 8, it is located on
the second floor. This excludes the 2700s, which are the large
lecture halls in the center of the building. Once you determine the
floor and module, the last two digits tell you which room within the
corridor.
Office Hours
Full-time temporary faculty are obligated to provide six contact (office) hours per week. Adjunct-student conferences are by appointment. Please be sure that your students and department secretary have your office hours. You can also post them with Pipeline or tape them to an assigned desk.
Textbooks
You receive textbooks for your personal use free through the Department. See Gail. Of necessity, books have already been ordered for classes taught by adjunct faculty. These texts are generally used across the board. If you wish to order supplementary texts, provide Gail with the bibliographic information and she will order them. Usually these texts are in within two weeks. You will be notified of delays. However, make sure that you do not order texts already being used in higher level courses, As you can imagine, doing so would cause problems in the other class. Gail can tell you if the texts are already being used.
If students report that textbooks are not in the bookstore or are sold out, contact Jessica Dulong, textbook manager at 333-7010.
