Restrooms

Faculty restrooms are located in North Module One on both the first and second floors. (There’s another on the South side, second floor in Module Two.) Student restrooms are located at the East end of all three building Modules on both the first and second floors.

Telephones in the Classroom Areas

Wall telephones to contact security 333-7031 are in the center of each classroom corridor.

Flanagan Campus Field House

The Flanagan Campus Field House, which is located in a separate building near the cafeteria, contains a six-lane swimming pool, a fitness room, cross country trail, outdoor basketball courts, and is equipped with a sauna, an indoor track, four basketball courts, and a dance room.  Contact the field house (333-7313) for specific details or for a schedule.

Fire Drills

System tests, which are infrequent, are always announced. If the buzzer goes off, consider it the real thing and evacuate the class. Have the students take anything of value with them. You grab the roster, attendance sheet, and the like.

Check the diagrams at the top of each staircase to determine the evacuation route for your class and the safe sites for physically challenged students (where during an emergency they go to await assistance in evacuating the building). College policy indicates that you stay with your class when leaving the building and that you stay in the safe site with any handicapped student you might have in the class, having first made an agreement to have a nearby teacher guide your class during exiting. Obviously this needs to be addressed with the College’s emergency planners. Meanwhile, at least know if anyone in the class needs help in case of an emergency and if that person has assistance or if you are it.

Weather-related cancellations

333-7171 is the line on which class cancellations are announced. Since many factors contribute to the decision to cancel classes, the announcement is not always made as early as one would like. Also, listen to the local radio stations.

Public Transportation

RIPTA schedules buses to the Flanagan campus at least once an hour via a variety of routes. Call RIPTA for specifics: 1-800-244-0444.
