Chair
Chair Alicia Lyon’s office is Room 3216 on the Knight (Warwick) Campus. If you need to speak with the chair about the syllabus, grading, a student problem or any other issue, call Gail Yanku at 825-2262 to arrange a telephone call or visit.
Flanagan Campus Coordinator
Jim Glickman is in office 1218 on the first floor faculty office area. Jim is someone to consult on any student issues and conflicts, as well as to go to with questions on course curriculum, departmental policy, or any bookstore problems that may arise. His phone number is 333-7137.
Secretarial Support
Diane Sylvester is available for faculty assistance in person and at 333-7372. If you are ill and need to cancel a class, please contact her, as she will go to your classroom and put a note on the board, notifying students of your absence.
Night Supervisor
Linda Lamanna is the contact and problem-solving person for teachers of the 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. classes. She will be at the Enrollment Services desk when you sign in. The number at the Enrollment Services desk is 333-7304.
Weekend College Supervisor
There is none. If you are teaching in the weekend college, you are pretty much left to your own devices other than being able to contact Security for the situations noted below in "Security." Sign in at the Administration desk on the first floor.
Your Peers
Communication with your peers through an online message board has just become possible. The English Department Adjuncts Group on Pipeline offers the chance for you to view announcements and get useful links as well as ask questions, register concerns, and exchange views with their colleagues on the message board. If you want to use the board, contact Jim Glickman, who will sign you up (or ask to sign up online. Log into Pipeline, hit Groups, then List Groups, then Adjunct English, and then Ask to Sign Up. If you have any questions or need help on how to do this, see or email Jim Glickman. You may also wish to consult Pipeline directions at the end of this manual.
Security
Our security staff has the same authority as municipal police. They are here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call Security if you are locked out of a classroom or have a troublesome student who won’t leave the class. The Security office houses Lost and Found. The Security office is located on the ground floor: Module Three South Side staircase is the only way to access the security office 333-7035.
