Program Goals

  1. Prepare students for employment as dental assistants, in accordance with the State of Rhode Island Dental Practice Act and including those procedures which Rhode Island dentists expect a certified dental assistant to perform.
  2. Provide the public and the dental community with a supply of qualified dental assistants, prepared to perform chairside assisting and related office and laboratory procedures.
  3. Prepare students to sit for the Certified Dental Assistant Examination offered by the Dental Assisting National Board, Inc.
