If you want to learn the basics of using a computer, this is the class for you. Learn as you walk through all the simple commands that will give you the knowledge needed for daily use of a computer. Live practice with computers is part of the learning. Class materials with simple instructions will be handed out.
Surfing the Net
The Internet has many uses that help find information that you need at work, home and for leisure. Learn about the many options available, many of them free, that will help you become more confident when using the Internet.
Step by Step MS Word
This entry-level course will teach you how to use Microsoft Word step by step. Designed for beginners this course will cover how to enter, select, insert, delete, move, copy and paste text as well as how to undo/redo typing and use spell check. Other topics include formatting text techniques such as bold, italic, font style and size, saving and opening a document, page setup and creating an envelope or label. You will also learn how to use the help feature. Prerequisite: ability to use a mouse, basic keyboard skills would be helpful as word processing involves typing.

Baking and Cake Decorating
If you love to bake, this course is for you. You will learn under the watchful eye of an expert chef how to bake breads, cakes, and pastries that will delight your family and friends. Your creative juices will flow into the design and creation of personalized, "professional" decorations. This is a hands-on course, taught by a culinary professional in a state-of-the-art baking facility. Limited to 10. Intro to Crocheting
Join this introductory class to learn the basics of crocheting and why more than 24 million people say they love crafting with yarn. Reduce your stress, add a sense of balance to a hectic lifestyle, and learn how to express yourself in this cost-effective, enjoyable way. In this class, you will learn from a veteran practitioner of 30 years how to create foundation chains and basic stitches, including single, double, and half-double crochet. You’ll learn basic pattern reading and how to produce a piece of work to call your very own. But most importantly, you’ll learn a skill that you can use anywhere, anytime. Sewing for Beginners
Learn basic sewing techniques to make clothing and other things for yourself or your home. The basics of sewing skills are taught, from buying the fabric, cutting the fabric, following a pattern, stitching, finishing techniques and much more. Sewing: Advanced Course
This course is especially designed for completers of the above sewing course or anyone who wants to further develop their sewing skills. Learners will work independently to continue a project, create a new product, or futher develop their basic sewing skills under the watchful eye of our experienced instructor. Basic sewing skills are required for this course. Bring your own machine to the first class. Materials not included.
Woodworking I
You’ll learn about the basics of woodworking and how to operate machinery such as bench and radial arm saws, routers, shapers and planers. And we’ll cover home repair skills - projects you can do yourself - in this basic woodworking course. A $10 materials fee (check or money order) is due the first night of class made payable to Davies.
Woodworking II
After gaining your initial experience with basic tools and materials in Basic Woodworking I, you can move to this class which stresses advanced use of tools and materials in a project-oriented curriculum. Your instructor will teach and coach you through a step-by-step process to reach your personal goals, and you will learn more home repair secrets. Materials not included.
Woodworking: Advanced Course
This course is designed for completers of Woodworking I and II and anyone who wants to further develop their woodworking skills. Under the guidance of a certified instructor, you will learn advanced skills in constructing small projects or continue to work on unfinished projects in class or at home. Enjoy a hands-on experience in a comfortable, relaxed adult environment. Basic woodworking skills are required for this course. Materials not included.
