RI Driver Education Program
Driver's education students must purchase textbooks.
Students who enroll in driver's education classes that begin on or after July 1 must purchase their own copy of the textbook, "How to Drive: The Beginning Driver's Manual" 14th edition prior to their first class meeting.
The book costs $19.95 and will be available in all four of CCRI's Main campuses in Warwick, Lincoln, Providence and Newport and online for an additional $5 shipping cost. View hours and locations or order online at the CCRI Bookstore's Website.
Students will not be able to purchase books in class and must bring this book to their first class meeting.
Please read all information before proceeding to the next pages: 'Registration Information' and 'Class Schedules.'
Driver Education courses are offered through CCRI's Center for Workforce & Community Education at most high schools, CCRI's four campus locations and various locations throughout the state such as the East Bay Learning Center in Tiverton.
Students must be a minimum age of 15 years, 10 months by the first class to register. Students can register for a class well in advance as long as he/she will be the required age by the first class. Proof of age must be presented at the first class. Proof of age can be documented by providing a copy of your birth certificate, passport or baptismal record. Students who register but do not meet the minimum age requirements by the first class will NOT be admitted to the class and will NOT be refunded their money.
