Environmental Safety Training
The Asbestos Abatement and Lead Abatement classes are for individuals engaged in construction, renovation, and demolition who plan on engaging in work, which involves contact with asbestos or lead. The emphasis is on safety procedures and the proper techniques to minimize environmental contamination.

Asbestos Abatement Annual Review
Annual review classes for asbestos certified and licensed persons are offered as follows:
Asbestos Competent Person Annual Review
Asbestos Supervisor/Contractor Annual Review
Asbestos Competent Person Training
Sixteen hours of instruction and a passing grade of 70% on the final course exam will certify you for a license as an asbestos competent person, recognized by the RI Department of Health.
Asbestos Abatement Supervisor/Contractor Training
Forty hours of instruction and a passing grade of 70% on the final course exam will certify you for a license as an asbestos abatement supervisor or contractor recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and RI Department of Health.

Satisfy the requirement to renew your license, if you are a lead abatement worker or supervisor by enrolling in one of the annual review classes below:

worker license.

Lead Abatement Supervisor/Contractor Training
Forty hours of instruction and a passing grade of 70% on the final course exam certify your eligibility to take the State Lead Exam for a permanent lead abatement supervisor/contractor license.
Lead Inspector Training
This forty-hour class is designed for those seeking certification and licensure as lead inspectors. The class emphasizes theory and hands-on practice in conducting investigations to determine the presence of lead-based paint. You will learn to determine the nature and sensitivity of the hazard and how to write required reports explaining the results and options for reduction. A passing grade of 70% on the final course exam certifies you as eligible for the state exam required by the RI Department of Health.
Lead Renovator
This eight-hour training class is geared toward those homeowners, construction contractors and painting contractors who will work on properties that have not been cited for lead violations.
Lead Mitigator Seminar
This training class is geared toward those homeowners, real estate professionals, and landlord representatives who must comply with the Lead Hazard Mitigation Act and RI Housing Resource Commission Regulations.
