McGrath named to national coaching board
Charlie McGrath, adjunct faculty for athletic/physical education, has been named to the Board of Directors for the Institute for Sport Coaching. Headquartered in Acton, Mass., the Institute is a national, non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to developing and delivering educational experiences and leadership tools critical to the advancement and improvement of professional, intercollegiate, interscholastic and youth sport coaches in the United States.
McGrath founded a program in RI called "Principles of Positive Coaching," designed to educate youth coaches on the impact their coaching style can have on the physical and psychological development of their young players. Attendees at this workshop may be eligible for CEU's through the RI Department of Education. Cost is $35. For information on upcoming workshops, email coachingsem@aol.com.
