State Employees' Charitable Appeal campaign kicks off

The giving spirit is alive and well at CCRI, as faculty and staff join with other state employees to pledge their support to area charities through the annual SECA campaign. The campaign kicked off statewide on Thursday, October 27.

Last year CCRI raised $45,000 to help hundreds of charitable organizations. “Think of the power we have to improve the quality of life, in our own and neighboring communities, when we participate in the Rhode Island State Employees Charitable Appeal,” states Jack White, director of the Liston Campus and this year’s CCRI campaign coordinator.

The campaign ends November 27, but employees are encouraged to submit their pledge cards by November 18 to be included in SECA and CCRI prize drawings.  Weekly prize drawings are also planned.

CCRI employees:

Did you know that you can make a contribution to the CCRI Foundation with your SECA designation? Select designation number 6252 to route your pledge to funds benefiting the CCRI community. The CCRI Foundation is actively working on behalf of CCRI to ensure the College’s edge of excellence. Last year, the Foundation provided $942,753 dollars for important projects and activities, including:

Newport County Campus

Funds are raised from CCRI faculty and staff, alumni, retirees, CCRI Foundation trustees, corporations, private foundations, and friends of CCRI, who value the important work of the College and are committed to CCRI’s mission.

The Foundation trustees are dedicated to increasing support to CCRI in the years ahead through an ambitious, three-year strategic plan, outlined at a planning retreat on June 20, to triple unrestricted giving and undertake a major comprehensive campaign by 2008.
The trustees are proud to be a part of the CCRI family and help make a difference in the lives of so many Rhode Islanders.
