Tax Specialist Holly Longley of the Internal Revenue Service recently presented an appreciation award to CCRI Business Professors Jack Renza of Hope Valley (left) and Robert Armstrong of Cumberland (right) for their work with VITA, the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. For several years, Renza and Armstrong have coordinated a VITA office, staffed by CCRI business students, at the college’s Lincoln campus. Through VITA, low- and moderate-income citizens earning less than $35,000 per year may receive tax preparation assistance free of charge.
