Galliano named coordinator for Newport Lifelong Learning

Joanne Galliano has been appointed Coordinator of Lifelong Learning for the Newport County Campus. In this newly created position Galliano will serve as the day-to-day representative of the Division for the East Bay area. This position is somewhat of a departure from previous responsibilities of Lifelong Learning staff. The focus of Galliano’s responsibilities will be in serving a geographical area rather than specific programs. In effect, she becomes the on-site representative for all of the division’s programs and services.

Galliano has been with the college for more than 17 years, beginning as an admissions officer in 1988, then assuming a coordinator position in the Cooperative Education department prior to her appointment to Lifelong Learning in 1997. She holds a M.A. in adult education from the University of Rhode Island and a B.A. in history and secondary education from Rhode Island College. Galliano will be assuming her new duties July 1, 2005.
