Cranston city councilman visits government class
|
Cranston City Councilman Allan W. Fung visited CCRI's Weekend College American Government Class in Providence last semester to speak about his experience as a delegate to the Republican National Convention.
Councilman Fung began his talk by telling students that he has always been involved in politics because he believed that the political forum was where he could make a difference.
Councilman Fung spoke to the students about his responsibilities at the convention and about the events, both political and social, that delegates participate in at the convention.
After his talk, the councilman answered questions on various political topics, including convention activities and what he thought about the Electoral College.
Students also asked questions about Councilman Fung's campaign for city council. Fung spoke about the campaign process and also his role on the city council.
One of the last questions that was asked of him was if he was going to run for another political office in Rhode Island. He said he is happy to be a councilman in Cranston for now, but the class agreed that there are bigger things in store for this active, aspiring, young politician.
