Senator Blais addresses CCRI business students

Rhode Island Senate Deputy President Pro-Tempore and entrepreneur Leo R. Blais shared his views on entrepreneurship with faculty and staff as guest lecturer on November 16 at the Knight Campus in Warwick. The presentation was broadcast live to participants at the Lincoln and Providence campuses. Blais, who represents constituents in Coventry, Foster and Scituate, spoke about his own journey to becoming a successful business owner, as founder of the innovative Pawtuxet Valley Prescription and Surgical Center. Blais defines an entrepreneur as “someone who recognizes opportunity and harnesses the resources to take advantage of it.”

“If there is one thing I’ve learned,” he says, “it’s that service and quality count. That’s it. Anything you do in business, if you provide these two things you’ll be ahead of the game,” explained Blais. The presentation was organized by the CCRI Knight Leaders as part of their Professional Development Series.
