In this course students will be introduced to the Blackberry smartphone. Topics that will be explored include customizing your Blackberry, working with settings, security and privacy, maintenance and performance, the Blackberry desktop manager, downloading and installing mobile applications, email, SMS, MMS, files, folders, working with Blackberry multimedia capabilities with pictures, videos, music and sound, WIFI, browsers and how to make your Blackberry your mobile PC. The course will be offered Monday April 13 – May 11. The class meets once a week for 5 weeks. Each meeting will be combination of lecture and hands on labs. Bring your Blackberry!

In this course students will be introduced to the social networking site Facebook. Topics that will be explored include creating your profile, security settings, site navigation, and participating in a group. As a user you will be able to use hands on lab time to get familiar with blogs, participate in online forums, use messaging and email, master photo sharing, explore Facebook for mobile devices, and become familiar with using additional facebook tools and applications. The course will be offered Wednesday April 8 – May 8 . The class meets once a week for 5 weeks. Each meeting will be combination of lecture and hands on labs.
Introduction to Desktop Publishing (INDESIGN) 14331 - COMI-1910-001

In this course students will be introduced to the desktop publishing software application, InDesign. Topics covered will include InDesign’s basic page layout, color management and snippet tools. Student will learn how to use the program and it tools more efficiently. The course will be offered Tuesdays and Thursday April 7– May 8. The class meets twice a week for 5 weeks. Each meeting will be combination of lecture and hands on labs.

Este es un curso básico en el manejo de computadoras para estudiantes que
no tengan familiaridad con las mismas. Algunos de los temas que se tratarán
son: cómo trabajar con el sistema operativo Windows y su escritorio, la
creación de archivos y los distintos tipos de los mismos, correo electrónico,
cómo navegar por Internet y buscar información en línea. 4 horas de laboratorio.

creating, printing and editing a document. Topics include formatting documents
including text and paragraphs. Students use spelling, grammar and AutoCorrect
features and are introduced to headers, footers and tables in basic word
processing documents.
Introducción al procesamiento de textos (Español: esta sección se enseñara
en español)
COMI 1640 -311
Este modulo es una introdución al procesamiento de textos y algunas de sus
funciones básicas: cómo crear un documento, editarlo e imprimirlo. Algunos
de los temas que se tratarán afectan a los párrafos y el texto. Los estudiantes
utilizarán el corrector de ortografía, gramatical y la función de autocorrección
y se hará una introducción al uso de los encabezados y pie de página y las
tablas en documentos de texto. 3 horas de presentación y una de laboratorio.

Intro. to Computer Forensics - 15829 - COMI 8035 - 600 (Online)
This course will introduce students to the emerging field of Computer Forensics. It will provide a solid foundation in the concepts of collecting, preserving, and effectively using evidence. It will also introduce students to software tools and focus on other necessary skills needed to launch and complete a computer investigation. This course is taught totally online.
