President's Message

For more than four decades, the Community College of Rhode Island has provided affordable, accessible, quality education to thousands of students. Whether you are looking to obtain your associate’s degree, enhance your job skills, change careers, or begin the path to a four year degree, CCRI has a program for you. We offer nearly 80 associate degree and certificate programs and serve more than 15,000 students at our campuses located in Lincoln, Newport, Providence and Warwick.
If you look around your community, you will see CCRI graduates working in the schools, businesses, banks, hospitals and retail establishments that you visit every day. They are employed in the manufacturing and technology firms that seek highly skilled workers. Our placement statistics show that our students get good jobs, at competitive salaries.
Many of the students who come to CCRI choose to continue their education after earning an associate’s degree. Credits earned at CCRI transfer to colleges and universities across the country. We have formal agreements with many area colleges, public and private, that allow for a seamless transition from CCRI to a four-year institution; some even offer attractive scholarships to CCRI graduates.
Even if you’ve been out of the classroom for years, you don’t have to worry about fitting in at CCRI. Our student population is diverse, a variety of support services are available to help you achieve your goals, and our caring faculty work together to create a learning community that puts your needs first.
For those of you familiar with our catalog, you’ll notice this edition has a different look. Using feedback from students, we redesigned not just the layout, but the content, with the goal of presenting all the information you need in a user-friendly way. It is our hope this catalog will serve not only as a guide to our many programs, but as a valuable reference tool throughout your years as CCRI. In order to make sure you have the most timely information, we will be publishing the catalog annually to reflect the ongoing changes in our many programs.
I invite you to take a few minutes to get to know us – browse through this publication, visit our Web site at www.ccri.edu or make an appointment to meet with one of our Enrollment Services staff. Be a part of New England’s largest community college. At CCRI, we’re changing lives every day.
Sincerely,

Ray Di Pasquale, President
