Accreditations
Community College of Rhode Island is a state operated associate degree-granting
college, functioning under the
Rhode Island Board of Governors
for Higher Education and is accredited by the
New England Association of
Schools and Colleges. The New England Association of Schools and Colleges,
Inc. is a non-governmental, nationally recognized organization whose affiliated
institutions include elementary schools through collegiate institutions
offering post-graduate instruction.
Accreditation of an institution by the New England Association indicates
that it meets or exceeds criteria for the assessment of institutional quality
periodically applied through a peer group review process. An accredited
school or college is one which has the necessary resources available to
achieve its stated purpose through appropriate educational programs, is
substantially doing so, and gives reasonable evidence that it will continue
to do so in the foreseeable future. Institutional integrity is also addressed
through accreditation.
Each of the programs in the Division of Health and Rehabilitative Sciences
is accredited/approved by the appropriate board, commission or agency. (See
Program pages.)
The Chemical Technology Program is accredited by the
American Chemical Society.
The Business Administration curriculum is nationally accredited by
The Association of Collegiate
Business Schools and Programs.
