Diagnostic Medical Sonography Certificate Program

Diagnostic medical sonography is a rapidly growing technology used to locate, evaluate and record pertinent anatomical, pathological and functional data to aid the physician in the diagnosis and prevention of disease. The program is a combination of didactic and clinical experience that exposes students to a wide variety of imaging techniques. Graduates of the program may be employed in a wide variety of healthcare settings.

On completion of the program, students will be eligible to sit for the credentialing exam offered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

RevisedAdmission Requirements:
 

  1. A completed application to the program
  2. Either have successfully completed an accredited radiography program, a two-year allied health program that is patient care related, or hold a bachelor's degree. Transcript or documentation must be sent to the Allied Health Department Chairperson
  3. Demonstrate competency at the MATH 1700 level, or completion of MATH 1700: Algebra for Technology, or MATH 1200: College Algebra
  4. Successful completion of XRAY 1130: Radiographic Anatomy or BIOL 1070: Human Anatomy and Physiology; or equivalent with a grade of C or better
