PLST 1000 – Introduction to Plastics - 4 Credits
This course is an overview of the plastics industry. Emphasis
will be placed on injection molding of plastic material, the fundamentals of
polymer chemistry, identification procedures, applications of these materials by
the plastics industry and the manufacturing processes used in the plastics
industry. Lecture: 3 Hours, Lab: 3 Hours
PLST 1800 – Properties of Plastics - 4 Credits
This course provides students with the opportunity to learn
about the physical properties of plastics. Students will learn to perform
A.S.T.M. and plastics industry tests that are used to determine these physical
properties. (Prerequisites: PLST 1000) Lecture: 3 hours, Lab: 3 hours
PLST 2010 – Plastics Manufacturing Processes - 5 Credits
This course is designed to provide students with experience
in a total plastics manufacturing environment including injection molding. (Prerequisites: PLST 1000) Lecture: 3 hours, Lab: 4 hours
