Community College of Rhode Island is a state operated
associate degree-granting college, functioning under the
Rhode Island Board of
Governors for Higher Education and is accredited by the
New England Association
of Schools and Colleges. The New England Association of Schools and Colleges,
Inc. is a non-governmental, nationally recognized organization whose affiliated
institutions include elementary schools through collegiate institutions offering
post-graduate instruction.
Accreditation of an institution by the New England
Association indicates that it meets or exceeds criteria for the assessment of
institutional quality periodically applied through a peer group review process.
An accredited school or college is one which has the necessary resources
available to achieve its stated purpose through appropriate educational
programs, is substantially doing so, and gives reasonable evidence that it will
continue to do so in the foreseeable future. Institutional integrity is also
addressed through accreditation.
Each of the programs in the
is accredited/approved by the appropriate board,
commission or agency.
The Chemical Technology Program is accredited by the American
Chemical Society.
The curriculum is nationally
accredited by The Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs.
