VOLLEYBALL
2010 SEASON OUTLOOK

Under the leadership of Head Coach Brian Warburton and Assistant Coach Anne-Marie Balboni, the CCRI women’s volleyball team has set a goal of qualifying for the NJCAA National Tournament.

The team will be challenged right from the beginning of the season in scrimmages against competitive teams from American International College, Rhode Island College and Anna Maria College. These scrimmages will help prepare the team for a return trip to the Central Ohio Kickoff Classic where they will face nationally ranked squads. The Lady Knights also will look to improve on their second place finish at the Dragon Invitational at Howard Community College to get off to a solid start of the season. Returning players Alysa O’Neill (Johnston, R.I.) and Taryn McCarthy (Attleboro, Mass.) and Amy Gobeille (Lincoln, R.I.) will provide leadership to this year’s team. Providing an explosive spark to the offense will be freshman Becky Short (Ponaganset, R.I.), Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School Athlete of the Year Alanna Perry (Taunton, Mass.) and Baylee Burns (North Kingstown, R.I.)
