The NJCAA Region XXI Sportsmanship Award was awarded to CCRI. Volleyball is the oldest varsity sport for women at CCRI, founded in 1976.  Through 2002, CCRI women's volleyball teams have compiled a record of 390 wins and 181 losses.  Along the way they have captured 13 Regional Championships and made 5 National appearances.  Many CCRI volleyball players have gone on to compete at four year institutions both locally and across the country.  The volleyball team plays an average of 30 matches over a two month season that includes participation in three major tournaments.
