Andy McNulty (Norwood, MA) who had been 2-0 versus Avery
Point up to this game lasted just 3 2/3 innings giving-up eight runs, four

Knights need to win two in a row to win the Region XXI Tournament.
Offense was provided by Phil Butler (Cranston, RI) who
had two hits including a double and an RBI, Brett Thornton (Coventry, RI)
who had one hit and two runs scored, and Gregg Allen (Rehoboth, MA) who had
a hit and an RBI.
Game 2 Tuesday- CCRI 3 UConn-Avery Point 4
Marek Deska (Ontario, Canada) kept the hot hitting
batters for Avery Point off balance as he mixed his pitched well giving-up
two runs on four hits and striking out five in six innings Troy Sainsbury
(Westerly, RI) got the loss pitching 2 1/3 innings giving-up two unearned
runs one in the seventh and one to end the game in the ninth. With the loss
CCRI finishes the season 27-7 and runner-up in Region XXI.
Offense was provided by Jon Furtado (Johnston, RI) who
contributed a hit and a run scored, Dan Girouard (Lincoln, RI) who had a
double, and Seth Desautel (Cumberland, RI) who also provided a base hit.
The Knights played valiantly and left everything on the
field, unfortunately they did not come out on the winning side this time. It
was a bitter end to an excellent season.

their fourth game back-to-back. The Lady Knights fought hard to try and
mount a comeback scoring two runs in the sixth inning and one in the seventh
inning, but there was just nothing left in the tank as they fell short to
the eventual Region XXI Champion Dean College. Offensively CCRI was led by
Campopiano and Peters who each had two hits and an RBI, and Cusson who had
two hits, Ward, Cavanagh, and Laurie each had a hit as well. CCRI ends the
season with a 19-3 record the best record in CCRI Lady Knights History.
