Lady Knights’ Balanced Attack Beats Bristol 90-16!

Warwick, R.I. – December 14, 2018: The CCRI Lady Knights basketball team traveled to Bishop Connolly High School in Fall River, MA to face the Bayhawks of Bristol Community College on Thursday night for a Region XXI interleague game. The Lady Knights prevailed 90-16. With the victory CCRI improves to 4-8 overall and 2-1 in Region XXI play.

The Lady Knights came into this game trying to reverse their fortune and snap a 3-game losing streak. CCRI has been playing very hard and beginning to come together as a team but have just not been able to convert the improvement to victories. However, Thursday would be much different. The Lady Knights came out of the gates on fire in the first quarter with nine points from Co-Captain Jada Littlejohn (Providence, RI) and six points apiece from Co-Captain Kat Raposo (Warwick, RI) and Olivia Batastini-Pallister (Providence, RI) to taking a 25-4 lead by the end of the quarter.

The Lady Knights dominance continued in the second quarter spurred on by nine points on three 3-pointers from freshman Jordan Northup (South Kingstown, RI) and seven points from freshman Courtney Dorr (East Providence, RI) including a 3-pointer to take a 52-6 lead at the half. The Lady Knights outscored Bristol 35-10 in the second half to cruise to the 90-16 victory.

Leading the way for the Lady Knights was freshman Olivia Batastini-Pallister with a game-high 16 points including four 3-pointers with six assists, three steals and four rebounds. Freshman Jordan Northup scored a career high 15 points with a career-high five 3-pointers with six rebounds and two assists. Also scoring in double-figures for CCRI was Co-Captain Jada Littlejohn with 15 points, seven rebounds and two assists and Co-Captain Kat Raposo with 10 points, six assists and six rebounds. Rounding out the balanced attack was Co-Captain Waleska Kelly (Pawtucket, RI) with eight points, 10 rebounds, six assist, five blocked shots and two steals and Courtney Dorr with 13 points including three 3-pointers. Freshman Faith Fahnbulleh (Providence, RI) had five points with a team and career-high 12 rebounds with two assists and a steal and Co-Captain Tatyana Correia (Cranston, RI) added eight points, five rebounds, two blocked shots an assist and a steal.

The next game for the Lady Knights will be Monday at 6pm when they will host the Pointers of UConn-Avery Point in their last game of the semester.
