Warwick, R.I. – November 2, 2017: Wednesday evening the Lady Knights basketball team traveled to the Naval Academy Prep School (NAPS) to play the Midshipmen candidates for their season opener. CCRI lost to NAPS 66-45. With the loss, the Lady Knights begin the season 0-1.
The Lady Knights were not ready for what hit them on Wednesday as NAPS quickly jumped out to a 22-8 lead and before they knew it they were down 32-11 by the end of the first quarter. CCRI never could gain any momentum as NAPS cruised to the 66-45 victory.
Leading the way for the Lady Knights was Auviance Lindo (Pembroke Pines, FL) with 10 points and three steals followed by Sophomore Nia Mims (Newark, NJ) who had nine points. The next games for the Lady Knights will be this weekend the 4th and 5th when they will travel to Frederick Community College in Frederick, MD to play in their Tip-off Tournament.
