CCRI was keeping pace with the 3-pointers by getting three from D'Asia Allen (Providence, RI) and one from Co-Captain Kelsey Hernandez (New Britain, CT). However, the Mustangs complemented their 3-point attack with a potent inside attack that allowed them to score 23 points to just 18 from CCRI to tie the game 34-34 at the Halftime break.

Both teams kept exchanging the lead in the third quarter as the scoring frequency stayed at a fever pitch with neither team backing down. CCRI was getting consistent scoring from their leading scorer Nia Mims (Bethlehem, PA) who had five of her team-high 19 points in the quarter but The Mustangs' Alex Bessey answered with 20 herself to keep the Lady Knights at bay. With just one quarter to play the Lady Knights trailed 55-54 and were looking for a way to escape Auburn, ME with a victory. The Lady Knights surged ahead of the Mustangs and were able to take a 71-65 lead. However, the Mustangs closed the game with a 10-0 run to fend-off the Lady Knights victory attempt.
