Warwick, R.I. – January 22, 2018: The CCRI indoor track team traveled to Boston, MA to compete in the Greater Boston Track Club Open on Sunday for a non-scoring meet. This was the first meet of the second semester and CCRI put forth some very good efforts.
The Lady Knights were led by Victoria Anderson (Manville, RI) who ran a career-best in the 60m hurdles. Anderson placed seventh in a career-best time was 10.18 seconds. Allison Lenox North Kingstown, RI) also had a good meet placing 11th in the 800m run in a time of two minutes 36.87 seconds. Freshman Courtney Ludovici (Burrillville, RI) placed 18th in the Shot Put with a toss of 5.48m. All three women returned to run the 200m race. Lenox placed 20th in a time of 28.64 seconds followed Anderson who placed 50th in 30.91 seconds and Ludovici who placed 65th in a time of 33.91 seconds.
For the Knights' men Ryan Pagliaro (Smithfield, RI) won both his heats of the Mile and 800m races. In the final standings Pagliaro was 23rd in the Mile with the time of 4:48.62 and 24th in the 800m with a time of 2:14.22.
Head Coach Gregg Cornell commented after the meet: "This was a good first meet back after the Winter break. We look to continue improvement next week at Boston University."
The next meet for CCRI will be Saturday the 27th when they travel to Boston University to compete in the BU Terrier Open at 10am.
