Warwick, R.I. – February 10, 2018: The CCRI Lady Knights women's basketball team hosted the Lady Vikings of Westchester Community College from Valhalla, NY for a game on Saturday. The Lady Knights easily handled the Lady Vikings 97-26. With the victory the Lady Knights improve to 15-10 on the season.

The Lady Knights came out of the gates firing as the sprinted ahead of the Lady Vikings and outscored Westchester 29-8 after one quarter of play. In the second quarter CCRI outperformed their first outscoring the Lady Vikings 29-7 to lead 58-15 at the half. CCRI held Westchester under 10 points scoring in every quarter to emerge victoriously 97-26. The Lady Knights were on fire from beyond the 3-point arc making 18 3-pointers on the day led by five apiece from each of their Co-Captains Tiondra Hands (Boynton, Beach, FL) and Kelsey Hernandez (New Britain, CT), four from D'Asia Allen (Providence, RI) and three threes from Nia Mims (Bethlehem, PA). Not only did the Lady Knights make shots they also shared the ball very well with 31 team assists.

Leading the way for CCRI was Co-Captain Tiondra Hands with a game-high 25 points, six assists, and four steals. Hands is now second o the CCRI All-time career assists list with 282 assists ahead of Nicole Girard who had 274 for her career from 2007 to 2009. Also helping CCRI was Co-Captain Kelsey Hernandez with 17 points, nine assists and a steal and D'Asia Allen who had 20 points with four rebounds and two blocked shots. Rounding out the team effort was Nia Mims with nine points, four assist and two steals, Jada Littlejohn (Providence, RI) six points, four assist and two steals and Kat Raposo (Warwick, RI) with five points and five assists.

The Lady Knights will be back in action Sunday when they will face the Rams of Springfield Technical Community College at 1pm for their Sophomore Day and Pink Out. It will be the final home game for the four Lady Knights sophomores: Tiondra Hands, Kelsey Hernandez, D'Asia Allen and Nia Mims.
