The long road trip did not start well for the Lady Knights as they had a difficult time making baskets versus the hosting Cougars of Genesee Community College (GCC) in the first game of the Cougar Classic. In the second half the Lady Knights played the Cougars pretty evenly but were still outscored by a single point to give Genesee the 74-61 victory on their home court. Leading the way for the Cougars was TaLia Burgess with a career-high 25 points including seven 3-pointers with a remarkable 7-11 shooting clip from beyond the 3-point arc.
Leading the way for the Lady Knights was sophomore Nia Mims (Bethlehem, PA) who scored a team-high 20 points with two rebounds and a blocked shot.
