The Lady Knights defeated the BHCC 3-0. With the victory the Lady Knights improve to 13-2 on the season and 2-0 in Region XXI play.
In their second occasion to play on their home court on the CCRI Flanagan Campus in Lincoln on Thursday evening. As luck would have it Bunker Hill from the Metro Boston area got jammed in the Thursday evening Patriots fan traffic forcing them to be about 45 minutes late for the contest. During that time the Lady Knights did what any other great team does, practice hard!
After a grueling practice and wait for their opponent. The Lady Knights began play in the match very slowly. So much to the point that Head Coach Sam Amaral played many of her reserves in games two and three. CCRI struggled to play their game but still was able to take a win from Bunker Hill. Leading the way for the Lady Knights was sophomore Dominique Baron (Middletown, RI) who finished with four kills and freshman Melanie Diaz (New Bedford, MA) led CCRI with six kills and two aces. Tri-Captain Amanda LaCroix (East Freetown, MA), normally CCRI’s starting outside hitter played setter this match and did an excellent job finishing with 18 assists, four aces and seven digs. Also helping CCRI was freshman Megan Johns (Burrillville, RI) had three kills and two aces while Rosie Vasquez (Providence, RI) played outside hitter today and finished with two kills and 10 digs.
The Lady Knights run the win streak to six matches straight and will play next when they travel to Concord, NH Saturday the 24 th to compete in the New Hampshire Tech Lynx Invitational.
