Lady Knights defeat Montgomery College: 22-25, 19-25, 25-22, 25-16 & 15-9
Head Coach Sam Amaral commented on the tumultuous first match “This game was a roller coaster ride the entire time. I knew the girls were tired from the eight hour ride to Maryland but I didn't expect them to play the way they did the first two games.” After the first two games Coach Amaral made an adjustment to have Tri-Captain Amanda LaCroix (East Freetown, MA) shift over to start setting for the CCRI. She is an extremely versatile player and leader willing to do anything for her team. The adjustment paid off as the Lady Knights as a unit started to play better and pass better. Coach Amaral added “I was proud of the girls to be able to lose two games and win the last three. The takes passion, heart, hard work, and sacrifice.” LaCroix finished with eight kills, 18 assists and 12 digs also helping the Lady Knights was freshman outside hitter Melanie Diaz (New Bedford, MA) who had nine kills and 26 digs while sophomore middle hitter Alexis Mirabile (Cranston, RI) was a big player in the front row getting seven kills and seven blocks.

However, I was very happy to have our ladies play such an amazing team right before the District Tournament. This just gave them extra motivation to get back home to practice and get ready for the best teams in the district.” Amanda LaCroix finished the match with eight kills, 11 assists and 15 digs.
