Warwick, R.I. – May 10, 2017: The CCRI Knights golf team welcomed players from four Region XXI community colleges to Cranston Country Club in Cranston, RI for a match on Tuesday. They welcomed players from MassBay CC, Massasoit CC, Bristol CC, and Holyoke CC. Unfortunately, no other team besides the Knights had enough players to field a full team. The Knights did not earn a win as they did not play an official team, but shot great as a team.
The Knights shot a 349 as a team on Tuesday. They were led by Tyler Boisclair (West Warwick, RI), who shot a team low 81 and was four shots off the match low. Matt O’Brien (Portsmouth, RI) shot an 85. Samuel Caron (Cumberland, RI) shot an 86. Megan Rocheleau (Warwick, RI) rounded out the team score with a 97. Mike Devlin (Hope, RI) shot a strong 102 but did not crack the top four that were counted for the team score.
The Knights did not earn an official win with this match, but they shot very well. The team’s record stays at 7-0 after this match. They will look to earn a win as they travel to Chicopee Country Club in Chicopee, MA the home course of Springfield Technical Community College on Thursday.
