Warwick, R.I. – February 6, 2017: The CCRI men’s and women’s indoor track teams traveled to Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT to compete in the Wesleyan Indoor Invitational on Saturday in a non-team scoring meet.
The Lady Knights were led by Allison Lenox (North Kingstown, RI) who placed 4th in the 600m run in a time of one minute 45.64 seconds. She also placed 34th in the 200m dash in a time of 29.17 seconds. Victoria Anderson(Manville, RI) placed 13th in the 60m hurdles in a time of 10.56 seconds. She also placed 48th in the 200m in a season-best effort with a fine time of 30.89 seconds.
For the Knights’ men Justin Lucier (West Warwick, RI) competed in three events. First he placed 12th in the 200m dash in a time of 23.62 seconds. Lucier backed that up by placing 23rd in the 60m dash in a very fast time of 7.48 seconds. He completed his day by leaping 5.57 meters in the Long Jump placing him 16th. Tim Chambers (Cranston, RI) placed 18th in the 800m with a season-best time of 2:13.97. Wayne Rainey (Hope Valley, RI) also competed in three events. First he placed 24th in the Long Jump with a 5.05 meter effort. Rainey placed 30th in the 400m run in a time of 57.76 seconds. He finished his day by placing 40th in the 200m with a time of 25.06 seconds. Rounding out the Knights performers was Ian Fetcher (Lincoln, RI) who placed 17th in the 600m in a time of 1:49.12.
The Track Athletes will be back in action Friday the 10th and Saturday the 11th at Boston University ”Valentines Invitational” for the last event of this indoor regular season.
