Warwick, R.I. – February 13, 2017: Knights and Lady Knights end the Indoor Track and Field Season on a high note with some season best times at the Boston University Valentine’s Day Invitational.
For the Lady Knights Allison Lenox (North Kingstown, RI) placed 118th in the 400m run with a career-best effort of one minute 2.14 seconds. Kate Murrin (Norton, MA) also ran her career-best time in the 800m placing 140th in a time of 2:43.43. Victoria Anderson (Manville, RI) placed 84th in the 60m hurdles in a solid time of 10.70 seconds. Rounding out the Lady Knights’ efforts, in her first ever 400m run Faithe Fernandez (North Providence, RI) placed 156th in a time of 1:10.85.
For the Knights Tim Chambers (Cranston, RI) ran a career-best time in the 800m run of 2:08.91 to place him 201st. Justin Lucier (West Warwick, RI) ran a season-best time in the 60m dash of 7.46 seconds to place 82nd. Lucier then came back to place 156th in the 400m in a time of 52.46 seconds. Wayne Rainey (Hope Valley, RI) placed 108th in the 60m dash in a time of 7.77. Rainey returned to run the 400m placing 200th in a time of 57.68 seconds.
Head Coach Gregg Cornell commented after the meet “We had a great season with some great development of our athletes and we look forward to the start of Outdoor completion in March.”
The next meet for CCRI Track will be March 25th when they travel to Middletown, CT to compete in the Wesleyan Spring Classic beginning at 10:00am.
